Carlos's credentials are unquestionable. There are few managers you can bring in that would bring instant respect and stability and in my mind that should be the goal. The club is so used to having SAF be the rock that they don't know how to operate in a world where the manager isn't a guarantee and is unchallenged. More importantly the fans aren't used to it. If you brought in a Lippi, Scolari, Hiddink, Erickson, Mourinho type, you know those are managers that garner a different level of respect from the footballing world. Carlos happens to garner that same level of respect because he's the hand picked man of SAF and has been there. There is something to be said for being there for as long as he has been.
I'm curious if SAF will take a position on the board?
