It was very surprising to me when I first read the story on manutd.com... couldn't believe he was gone so quickly, because he was the team leader without question. We all remember his contributions in the Champions League glory.
My first thought when he took over at Sunderland was that he wants to quickly gain experience and a resume so that he can take over for Sir Alex when he retires. I still believe that is a big part of his quick jump into managing. I also think his patch up session with Sir Alex was another step toward putting him in prime position for the job.
I am in favor of Keane taking over for Sir Alex when that sad day comes that SAF steps down. I love the fire in Roy Keane... he is without question one of United's all time best players.
