That certainly is a bizarre story. Of course, I do think this cellular memory stuff is pure bunk, unless it's a brain transplant of course.
Character changes after an organ transplant aren't suprizing to me at all. Because these people needed an organ transplant, they were obviously in serious medical trouble. Threat of imminent death has been known to change people's outlook on life. No big mystery there.
