Goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel is considering quitting Manchester City to find regular first-team football.
The 21-year-old made his debut this season and became Sven-Goran Eriksson's first choice but has now been overtaken by Joe Hart and Andreas Isakson.
"I spoke to Sven last week and explained to him that I want to play first-team football," said Schmeichel.
"He said that he can't promise me that, so if I am honest it looks like my future might not be at City."
Schmeichel, the son of former Manchester United keeper Peter, played the first seven games of the Premier League season for City.
But after losing his place in the first team he joined Cardiff on loan in September.
Schmeichel returned to City in January and is now on loan at Coventry.
The future is exciting - I could go anywhere in Europe to play football

The Dane joined City in 2002 and signed a new four-year deal last September, but could still leave Eastlands to further his career.
"I have got three years left on a good contract so I could bide my time, but I am a footballer and I want to play," he said. "It is as simple as that.
"The future is exciting. I could go anywhere in Europe to play my football: Spain, Italy or stay here in England.
"I am looking forward to it but for now I am not thinking about that. I am a Coventry player at the moment and my job is to help Coventry to be safe."
