Tevez urges United to be 'smart'

Carlos Tevez has called on Manchester United to be 'smart' in their UEFA Champions League semi-final with Barcelona.

United travel to Spain for Wednesday's first leg at Camp Nou with Tevez looking for a positive performance from the Premier League leaders.

And, with Barcelona struggling on the domestic front, Argentine ace Tevez is determined to pile more pressure on Frank Rijkaard's side.

"They're coming to the game with a lot of pressure on them," Tevez told Barcelona's official website.

"If we get to play in our style, we can make it very difficult for Barca. There are 180 minutes to play and we have to be smart. We have to come out focused and play well in all areas.

"If we continue playing in the same way, with the same passion, we've got a chance. Obviously it's all down to us."

Tevez also believes that, with Lionel Messi back to fitness, Barcelona will have no excuses if they lose to United in the semi-finals.

Messi has returned to action after a thigh injury and, while Tevez is full of admiration for his compatriot, feels it will be more of an achievement if United see off a full-strength Barca side.

"Let him play," added Tevez. "If we beat them with Messi, there'll be no excuse.

"He's from another planet. He's got amazing acceleration. He's a marvellous player."
I've been watching a few of barca's matches of late (i can send those to you lot if you want) and while Messi is absurd, Eto'o is as much if not a bigger threat. He's moves into the most dangerous areas at the exact right time and he has players around him that can get the ball in the right spot.

Not sure what he menas by playing smart...
