Pregnant sister of Manchester United star Wes Brown dies - just five months after death of his father
Quote:
Manchester United player Wes Brown was 'stunned' last night after his pregnant sister died.
This is the second tragedy to hit the footballer's family in five months - he is still coming to terms with the death of his father Bancroft in February.
Half-sister Claire Fallows, 36, died in hospital on Saturday night.
Fallows, who was around three months pregnant, is believed to have a history of heart problems.
She had collapsed twice in the last week.
The defender, 28, only discovered he had a secret sibling five years ago.
He learned of her death while on United's pre-season tour of South Africa.
'Wes had only just got to know Claire and now he has lost her,' a family friend told the Sun.
'She was a down-to-earth girl who was not bothered that he was a Premiership footballer.
'She was more interested in the fact that she had found her brother.'
Fallows, who worked in Asda, leaves a husband Tom and three sons aged one, 13 and 16.
Brown is thinking of flying home from Durban before his side's match against Orlando Pirates tomorrow.
A club spokesman said: 'We are leaving it up to him whether he wants to stay out there or come home, but at the moment it's undecided.'
