Again Torque, you are missing the point of my argument.
Manchester United is a business. To challenge at their best, they need ALL there players fit.
Having a striker on payroll who is fit for a handful of matches a season is simply not smart from an economical standpoint.
While United were able to claim the double last season, other teams have beefed up there squads to challenge again.
United in turn have to do the same. Now while the departure doesn't seem to make sense at first glance, there are still a couple more days in the transfer window remaining. Add to that Manucho may have gotten his permit [sitll haven't found an official source on this] and another team wanting to take an injury plagued player and it makes perfect sense to let him go.
We are going to have to trust Sir Alex on this. I simply feel Berbatov is United's along with another surprise [thinking Larsson...].
