Re: NFL 2008/2009 Season Official Thread **SPOILERS**
My thoughts on Week 1:
1. J-E-T-S. If there's one thing Favre loves, it's a challenge, and the stage is set for him to lead the Jets to bigger and better. Best keep their eye on the Bills, though. Laugh all you want--they're going to be a dark horse.
2. Vince, NFL fans are notoriously impatient. If you can't handle a bit of booing, get out of the game. Thank goodness you're in the relatively friendly confines of Nashville, rather than Oakland or New York.
3. Michael Turner was superb as Tomlinson's backup, and he's fully-deserving of his starring role now. He won't get 220 yards every game, but if he can keep this up, he'll be a superb pickup for the Falcons.
4. If the Panthers can beat a team considered by some as the AFC representative for the Super Bowl in their own stadium minus their best wide-receiver and with a QB just coming back off Tommy John surgery, then just how good can they be?
5. The Raiders are bad. Really, really, really bad.
6. So are Mike Greenberg and Mike Golic. Memo to ESPN: Please don't EVER put them in a broadcast booth ever again.
7. Eli Manning would do well to figure out which Eli he's going to be. New Eli was confident, composed, and looked great in the first half on Thursday. Old Eli was shaky and made poor throws in the second half.
8. The Pittsburgh Steelers would like the world to know that their offensive line will be just fine.
9. Aaron Rodgers didn't look bad at all.......up until he attempted a Lambeau Leap.
10. Watching Tom Brady, Peyton Manning and Steven Jackson in action on Sunday, along with a subpar LaDainian Tomlinson, think teams are still going to allow their stars to sit the entire preseason next time around?
