Default Re: Injury Thread 2008 - 2009 ***SPOILERS***

Well it looks like Hargreaves was never off the injury list.

Still has the tendinitis issue.

He's off to see another specialist if his latest comeback fails.

Owen to visit specialist?

Owen Hargreaves may return to see a specialist to finally solve the tendonitis problem that has hampered his United career so far.

The 27-year-old has started just two games this season, and Sir Alex Ferguson says the midfielder will continue with his current regime for another week, at which point the Reds’ medical team will decide whether to send Hargreaves back to see a specialist.

“It’s a difficult one because he is still having some pain,” said the Reds boss. “But he’s getting better. We’re going to give it another week and see how he gets on with that.

“We may then send him to another specialist. We’ll probably send him back to the specialist we dealt with before. The specialist is happy with the progress. He thinks Owen is on the right way.

“It’s just frustrating and it’s such a tender part of the body, the knee. But I think he will be OK. Absolutely, he will [be back to the player he was]. He’s a fit lad.”

The inconvenience of Hargreaves’ absence has been amplified by the knee ligament injury to Paul Scholes and Michael Carrick being sidelined after breaking a bone in his foot against Liverpool in September.
