Funny, I was thinking exactly the same thing last week. Remember some of his displays last season, especially the weeks around the 7-1 Roma game? He was great, fantastic passer of the ball, although sometimes prone to try the perfect long ball over the top.

But a holding player he is not, much better going forward. So much more effective with someone like Hargreaves behind him. But when the ginger prince comes back, will Carrick be in third place? Seems like it, yet I would hate to lose him because look how good he was last season once he had an extended run in the team.
