i don't know if it's lack of passion. he doesn't show it on the outside, but he is just one of those players that holds it in. that's not unsual. however, his personality won't do much to inspire those aroudn you either. He's operates at a cool temperature and as much as we might not like it we need to be objective and not hold it against him when we judge him.
as for his pace, it is definitely one of his weaknesses, but it seems like to me his place is not to replace the holding player but the attacking. while i can see the need for an extravegant passer, what about carrick makes him better than anderson? for me, he's the one that he's competing with for a place.
