I was very skeptical of this movie and decided not to watch this movie but after reading so different reviews I will have to see this movie myself.

I agree that Hollywood is way too much relying on special effects to create the suspense. Hitchcock managed to create very good horror movies without special effects.
Fifty years ago when bomb was going to explode in a cafe they showed them bomb ticking, then people drinking coffee and enjoying themselves, then again showing the clock on bomb that shows there isn't much time left. Also the music played a very big role in that.
But now they concentrate on the explosion, how things fall into pieces and people get killed. Pathetic to see how directors can't manage to recreate that effect that directors not very long time ago had to use everyday.

Another bad thing is the lack of original idea, most of the movies are copied from other movies. If the movie makers can't think of anything new themselves they should read a book and make a movie out of it. It's better than watching a movie with the same story again.
