Half of the season is still ahead so there is still a chance but it is all up to Inter atm. If they don't start losing points we don't have much to do.

That's true we haven't had the best of season's and the form hasn't been exactly the best. Part of the problem is injuries. We have never been able to line our strongest XI. Always someone is injured. The other part is new signings. We had quite a few new signings and they need/needed time to settle. Also some players how haven't been injured also haven't found their best form, Mancini to be more exact. He played an important role in our last year's success and this year he just hasn't managed to get to that level he was last year. However I believe after a Christmas break things will start to get better.

Well, there certainly aren't no sales made in winter. Mancini is rumored to leave because his current contract expires in 2009 and he hasn't signed a new contract yet. The other one with who there have been problems regarding new contract is Ferrari. Both players want to stay but want more money than the club wants to offer. I believe there will be a deal between the club and Ferrari but it will be harder for Mancini. He wants more than our salary cap is and the club won't offer him more. The best deal he can get is 2.5 + 1 million in bonuses. Actually the 2.5 million is our salary cap but the club is willing to add bonuses to that. Mexes signed a new contract in the summer and he now has the same deal, 2.5+1.

In winter I doubt there will be many new signings. There are positions that would need more firepower but nothing that couldn't wait till summer. If there are any new signings then one of them will be without a doubt a striker. Mutu, Di Natale, Rigano, Lucarelli and Fred have all been linked with us. Hard to say who will come and if someone will come at all. Lately the Mutu and Di Natale rumors have picked up. Di Natale played under Spalletti at Udinese and he has been rumored to join us for over a year now.
Mutu is the latest to be linked with us and it seems serious. Mutu is said to be happy in Florence but higher wage and Champions League football can persuade him move to the Eternal city. Honestly I don't like Mutu very much. There is no doubt he is a very good player but I'm worried about his personality, especially when things aren't going too well. As long as Spalletti feels Mutu is the right choice for Roma I will back Mutu.
