Default Nani content with waiting game

Comments like these make me believe that United not only were looking for young players that had tremendous potential in football abilities, but also character during last summers transfer period.

Although I would like Nani to get a little more playing time, its apparent that he needs more consistency when playing. Not to mention that Giggs has been playing extremely well, Park back from injury and you have a log jam in the wing position.

Anyways, his character should be applauded. No prima donna drivel. Just work hard and be prepared for when your called upon.

Manchester United winger Nani insists he does not have a problem in biding his time for a regular first team place.

The 21-year-old joined United in the summer and was an instant addition to the side as he started six of their first 10 games of the season.

More recently, he has found a regular first team slot more difficult to come by having started just three of the Red Devils' last 10 games.

But Nani is willing to be patient and is certain his chance will come.

Confident

"It's a long season so some of the players will get tired," Nani told MUTV.

"But we have a big squad and if we change one player it is not a problem because the players that come in do a good job.

"I am confident that if I play I can do well for the team. I have to wait for my opportunities and I knew that was the case when I joined. I don't see it as a problem."

Improved

Nani shares his left wing position with United stalwart Ryan Giggs so it comes as no surprise to the Portuguese player that he has had to settle for the sidelines for a while.

But he is nonetheless determined to keep on working at his game so that when handed his opportunity he makes the most of it.

"I am new at this club and players like Ryan Giggs have played for United for many years," he added.

"Giggs has a great history at this club. I just have to wait for my time to come and when it does I have to show that I can play well.

"I am OK and I feel settled at the club. I think I have improved a lot since I started. And as I get more games, more training and more time learning I will keep on improving as a player."
