Hargreaves: Could be United legend
Ferguson feels his new £18million capture will make a huge impact at Old Trafford.
And while the Scottish tactician does not want to label his new England international, he feels he is more than capable of following the footsteps of the likes of Bryan Robson, Roy Keane and Eric Cantona.
"Some players are worth waiting for - and Owen is one," said Ferguson.
"He was England's best player at the last World Cup. He brings a quick energy to the centre of midfield and the European experience he has had with Bayern Munich is priceless.
"I won't saddle him with comparisons to Bryan Robson, Roy Keane and Eric Cantona because each player is different.
"But what I can say is that like those eminent predecessors, he will bring stature to his position and give me any number of options in terms of the role he will play."

im not sure he will be anything near keane, cantona and robson, but i think that if he recovers well from that injury he could really be vital for us. he is a great defensive mid, but he is also good attacking, he has a great shot as we saw for england and he is very versatile.
well worth the wait imo, i can only remember 2 years ago when i was criticizing this fella's performance, but apparently man utd wanted him before the world cup but bayern wouldnt sell up.
i think he is a hard worker, and will be important to us, but im not too sure about him being a legend yet... we will wait and see i suppose
