Looks like Howard could miss the Everton match:

Quote:
HOWARD IS HURTING
Goalkeeper Tim Howard is in doubt for Everton's Premiership fixture against his former club Manchester United after suffering a dislocated finger in the United States' 4-2 defeat to Brazil on Sunday.

Howard's left ring finger had to be pulled back into place after he hit it against the crossbar during the second half at Soldier Field, but he bravely played on and finished the game.

After receiving treatment for several minutes, the Everton keeper told coach Bob Bradley he would fight through the pain. Howard is scheduled to receive X-rays Monday amid fears he may also have broken his finger.

"It is really sore. We will see what the doctors say and see if I can play next week," Howard told Yahoo! Sports. "With all the pain and visually what it looks like, we are not sure. It was pretty blue and swollen up like a balloon. They had to pull it back into place and it took a while. I was getting pretty frustrated because it was so painful.”

Howard's Everton will host United at Goodison Park on Saturday. He will be evaluated by club medical staff when he returns to England on Tuesday.

Let's hope Fletch is alright. I've missed him in the team this season, and now an injury on top of it would be crap.

I also have missed seeing Fletcher. United have SO many midfielders at the moment, though. Can't we loan some of them out? Anderson?

Default Scots suffer Fletch setback

out 6 weeks... man, this sucks... that coont Vieira was responsible for this injury? grrr...

Quote:
Scotland are likely to be without Darren Fletcher for next month's Euro 2008 qualifier in Georgia due to injury.

Fletcher was hurt during Wednesday's heroic win in France following a challenge from former Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira.

Alex McLeish was forced to replace Fletcher after just 25 minutes and the injury has ruled the Manchester United man out for six weeks.

It means Fletcher is struggling to be fit for the 17th October qualifier in Georgia, with suspension keeping the midfielder out of the 13th October game with Ukraine.

Nasty challenge

Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed the length of absence and the United boss was unhappy with Vieira's tackle.

"Darren will be out for six weeks, which is a disappointment," said Ferguson.

"It was a really bad, nasty challenge."

Fletcher has become a key component in the Scotland midfield and was captain for last week's 3-1 win over Lithuania in the absence of regular skipper Barry Ferguson.

Damn it. I was really hoping it was a minor injury. Well, maybe this means that Eagles will just get that much more playing time

Don't worry, Sunderland will make it to Europe and Keano will become player-manager for a season.

Default Injured Silvestre out for season

Tweety out for the season with a acl/mcl injury. Our leftback situation is rather thin. Time for the kiddies to step up until O'Shea gets heathly again.

Get well soon Tweety. As much as I'm on your case, I wouldn't wish this injury on any footballer.

[quote]Manchester United have suffered a blow after learning that Mikael Silvestre will miss the rest of the season with a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Silvestre, 30, was stretchered off just before half-time in Saturday's 1-0 win at Everton after collapsing in pain.

Defender Silvestre's appearances have been limited this season because of Patrice Evra's good form.

But his injury leaves United short of defensive cover at left-back following Gabriel Heinze's move to Real Madrid.

It is also the latest in a series of knee injuries to hit the Old Trafford camp.

Park Ji-Sung and England keeper Ben Foster are both at different stages of recovery from cruciate ligament surgery, while Ole Gunnar Solskjaer announced his retirement this month after failing to recover from a long-term knee complaint.

John O'Shea is also out after sustaining an injury on Republic of Ireland duty last week, while youngsters Gerard Pique and Johnny Evans are likely to be among Ferguson's squad when United open their Champions League campaign against Sporting Lisbon in Portugal on Wednesday.
