As the title suggests: you get to play name that tune!
I participated in this at another forum a while back and thought I'd go ahead and give it a shot on this one. Go ahead and download the files and PM me your guesses. Most are in MP3 or WMA format and are typically the first 5 or so seconds of the song (sometimes a bit shorter or longer, sometimes somewhere other than the beginning). I'll let this run for about a week or two and then give the results. After that, if someone else wants to give it a shot, feel free. Also, if there's a big interest, I'll try to do it more regularly.
Here's the first set. The first zip folder has 7 songs in it and the second has 4. Good Luck!
REMEMBER: PM YOUR ANSWERS DO NOT POST ANSWERS IN THREAD

1) C'mon people! Give this a shot...it's fun, I swear!
2) Why is this in "Arts and Media"?

So, we've got one contestant so far and they've done quite admirably. Hopefully someone can put their attempts to the test and make this a contest

Well, I've been away for awhile and figured that when I came back, I'd have at least a couple new responses...guess not.
Fuckdoctor, just go ahead and PM your guesses; PM whatever you can get. If it's any help to anyone, most of these songs are from the 60's/70's
I'll do this once more to see if I get a better response.

This is a shameless bump, but I've noticed a surge of new members...maybe this'll get off and running this time around

I figured GocartMozart might want to see how he fared, though:
1) Jimi Hendrix - All Along the Watchtower
2) U2 - Even Better than the Real Thing
3) The Police - Message in a Bottle
4) Grateful Dead - Friend of the Devil
5) Jimi Hendrix - Hey Joe
6) The Eagles - Desperado
7) Clapton - Tears in Heaven
8) CCR - Lodi
9) Sublime - Santeria
10) The Doors - Riders on the Storm
11) Clapton - Cocaine
If you had had competition, GM, here's how you'd have scored (2 points for artist and title, 1 for either of the two):
1) 2
2) 0
3) 2
4) 0
5) 2
6) 0
7) 1.5 (You guessed the right artist and gave me two titles. One of which was correct)
8) 1
9) 1
10) 1
11) 2
12.5/22...not too shabby, congratulations!
