For the PC, I've played both. For me, PES has a more realistic feel and that's what I look for.

I have PS2 and PS3 and I will get PES2008 in few hours.
I always played PES (well in fact Winning Eleven because of the commentary by Jon Kabira, who heard him know what I'm talking about) - more realistic gameplay, and as for the larger number of licensed teams on FIFA I can only say that quantity is not always quality.

Are you serious?
What EA Sh** game is good except Madden?
NHL - feels more like Tekken or Soul Calibur (because of the sticks).
NBA - stoopid.
Formula 1 - feels like demolition derby. No AI on opposition (constantly crashing into you) - try to win the race with damage on, full rules and everything. Mission impossible.
FIFA - improving, but not enough. Every year EA Sh** "improves" graphics and gameplay but it's the same thing as year before and before that. Each year same story and same product from EA Sh**.

Guys i own Fifa 08 on PS3 and honestly it suck dont buy it, pro evolution 2008 (winning Eleven 2008) was just released in Japan and i have a copy from it (its all in japanese) and the game play is way way way better, trust fifa 08 is frustrating and the "passing" in it kills, honestly u cant make a proper decent pass without the ball being intersepted. plus very average goalkeepers make super-human saves which in real life would never ever happen.
dont buy fifa 08, in a month winning eleven 2008 will be released in full english version, end of november

yeah i think fifa is just overloaded with too many things. I like PES because it hasnt really changed much over time, it is classic - not very realistic but AFAIK its not in any way affiliated with sepp blatter so its better than FIFA for that alone if not for much else.

p/s Fifa is one of the only games ive never enjoyed playing, id rather play tennis
