Default **SPOILER** Ronaldo

Official - Ronaldo tendon severed

Quote:
Milan have now confirmed Ronaldo has completely severed the tendon in his left knee, effectively ending his career.

Ronnie has already suffered this type of injury twice before in 1998 and 2000, but that was in his right knee.

As there was talk of a possible retirement at the end of this season, if the diagnosis is confirmed then it is likely Ronaldo’s career is over.
I was watching the match when it happened. Looked fairly innocuous, and then the camera zoomed in on him and he was clearly in agony--lots of it.

Absolutely brilliant career. The stuff many dreams are made of (injuries notwithstanding). Hate to see it end like this.

Ronaldo Luís Nazário de Lima, I/we salute you. Thanks for the memories:

Wow, that is sad to hear. Seemed like a quality individual and, of course, an amazing athlete. A talisman for Brazil, Real, Barca....etc. If this is the end of his career, then it is unfortunate that this is how it ends.

On a side note: Arsenal has one less player to worry about...damn

Ronaldo when he played for Barcelona was possibly top 3 greatest player of the 90's. He was insane. 46 goals. Scoring any which way you could think of.

The knee injuries and his lack of fitness ruined his career, but what a career. Incredible stints with Barcelona, Real and Milan.

I really hate to see players leaving the game due to injury. I really hope that Ronaldo decides to come back. To at least leave the games on his terms.

For those with access to the Archives section, we'll be posting up the 02-03 CL 2nd leg between Manchester Unite and Real Madrid.

Ronaldo received a standing ovation at OLD TRAFFORD for his efforts.

The game was amazing. Must watch.

Sadly, no matter what happens from this point, he won't be retiring on his terms.

It's terrible indeed. Can't believe he is so unlucky. Maybe it's something else, like over-using his body, or even helping it with different substances...dunno, just sayin'.
Too bad he couldn't keep his march 2007 form, he was unstopable then

Most goals in the history of the World Cup. No one could dance in the attacking 1/3 like he could in his prime.

Man, look at this medal collection:

World Cup
Copa America
Confederations Cup
Cup Winners' Cup
UEFA Cup
Intercontinental Cup
World Player Of The Year
World Soccer Player Of The Year
European Footballer Of The Year
World Cup Golden Ball
FIFA Golden Boot
UEFA Golden Boot

That is a RIDICULOUS amount of success. If he had a Champions' League medal, he would surely stand alone as the one guy who won all three major European club and three major international competition medals. 5 out of 6 isn't too shabby at all.

amazing how easy it is to forget that once upon a time this fat man was just unstoppable.

Its a real shame that his career ended this way (a bit like shearer actually). However he at least has the honor to look back at his career and think that it he probably lived up to his full potential (unlike shearer actually).

You're right, and Owen or Gascoine amongst Shearer (hope Rooney won't join the list).
I heard he'll miss out at least 9 months
