It's so wonderful to see Chelsea lose! And Drogba's diving clinic today was disgusting. He should be ashamed, especially in light of what happened yesterday.

Well done, Spurs. You were definitely the better side today and fully deserved the win.

well deserved by the spuds

woody did good, nice to see him back in a decent side

ramos really is building something great and it seems he is doing it by taking spurs back to basics

really happy for the players too, they are delighted.

Good for Spurs! Even better was seeing how bitter Grant was after the game. I really don't like that guy... he just looks too much like some kind of evil troll-thing to me. You can call me petty or whatever, but I'd like to see Chelsea get diddly-squat this year. Firing the most successful manager in their history because of a dip in form has got to be the stupidest thing ever. Nice one Abramahammerhead!

And for those of you who love these kinds of coincidental stats, the last time Spurs won the Carling Cup (which was then the League Cup) was in 1999. Anyone who doesn't remember what else happened in 1999 has no place on these forums

Tottenham celebrate Carling Cup victory with drunken brawl at Essex nightclub

Jonathan Woodgate headed the extra-time winner that earned Tottenham the Carling Cup. Spurs' victory over holders Chelsea continued a phenomenal run in knockout competitions for manager Juande Ramos and ended the club's nine-year wait for silverware since they last lifted the League Cup in 1999.

But Spurs players were involved in a brawl in the early hours this morning as they celebrated their Wembley win.

Scuffle: Defender Ledley King outside Faces nightclub in Essex last night

Tense: Ledley attemped to force his way back into the club, according to onlookers

Captain Ledley King was said to have "gone berserk" after being thrown out of Faces nightclub in Essex when he became too drunk to stand up.

In a series of scuffles, the 27-year-old player grappled with bouncers as he tried to force his way back in. Seemingly oblivious to the waiting paparazzi, King struggled for some time before he was eventually restrained by a friend.

Booted out: the scuffle outside Faces nightclub early today after drunken Ledley King was ejected

Legless Ledley: a doorman and pal help King out the club

One onlooker said: "He was clearly the worse for wear and could barely stand up. He got very angry when the bouncers got him outside.
"He's a very big lad and they were having trouble keeping him under control. He looked completely out of it."

Worse for wear: winger Aaron Lennon also outside Faces last night

Team-mate Alan Hutton attempted to hold King back and eventually helped him into a cab outside the Gants Hill nightspot.

Other players partying until the small hours after their 2-1 win Carling Cup over Chelsea were Aaron Lennon, Jermaine Jenas, Tom Huddlestone, Steed Malbranque, Pascal Chimbonda and Younes Kaboul.

Tottenham's new coach Juande Ramos allowed his stars to break their strict health regime and "have a good time" after Jonathan Woodgate headed the extra-time winner.

Inside the club there were wild scenes as players let their hair down. WAG Danielle Lloyd, who was partying alongside the Tottenham players, reportedly became involved in a heated argument with David Beckham's sister Joanne. But unlike King, the girls managed to remain composed as they made separate latenight exits from the club.

At White Hart Lane, Spurs fans filled pubs around the ground as they celebrated the club's first trophy since 1999, waving flags and cheering motorists as they sounded their horns.

Jeremy Collis, 45, who took 16-yearold son Jack to Wembley, said: "We wanted it more than Chelsea, and that wasn't just the players, it was the fans too. We always throw it away but this time we didn't do that."
After the match Tottenham captain King said he believes he will be fit to help Tottenham win more silverware for many years to come after captaining the club to victory over Chelsea.

It was reported that yesterday's final would be King's last game for the club and that he would have to retire due to his long-standing knee problems.
But the 27-year-old, who was superb on his return to the first team after being out for a month, is adamant that he still has a future in the game.

Catfight? Danielle Lloyd and David Beckham's sister Joanne were allegedly involved in a heated argument inside the club the same night

He said: "I have a lot of football to come and will stay with the team. I'm confident there are more trophies to follow.

"I have had some problems with the knee. I have played games and then afterwards it's been a bit of a problem. But I am not worried about it one bit, I'm confident."

Hilarious and well deserved.

Since I love English football, I am very concerned about reports I've read about Ledley King's knee.

Possibility he might have to retire due to it. I really hope it isn't true. His cartilage must be gone and its bone on bone. [that's my guess]

If him not being close to full fitness and to put in the performance that the did. Well done.

P.S. They look well hammered. Classy not trashy...

I think there is a treatment for this (something like shark cartilage), but if he is already bone on bone, I think it's hopeless.

They haven't won anything from '99 right? It's only fair King must have been really drunk to act like this

i'm really certain that they didn't win anything of worth in 99. in fact I'm 100% sure they didn't. A certain team in red supposedly had a big year that year

I am even more certain they won the League Cup in 1999. If United had won that too, it wouldn't have been "the famous treble", but..."the famous quadro/smth"

Well done Spurs. I can't say that it was pure luck, because Tottenham played well against us at WHL. Unfortunately I haven't seen any other matches of theirs, but I guess Juan De Ramos (not sure about my spelling) has brought good changes to the team and who knows, maybe next year their goal will be to win the championship.
