With Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea battling it out for top spot in the EPL, another fight is shaping up to be battled all the way till the end of the season.

The last Champions League spot, which is 4th place in the EPL.

Here are the contenders for this position:

Liverpool - 4th in EPL on 50 points with a game in hand.

Everton - 5th in the EPL on 50 points with a game in hand.

Aston Villa - 6th in the EPL on 48 points

Blackburn - 7th in the EPL on 45 points

Manchester City - 8th in the EPL on 45 points

updated standings:

Everton - 4th in the EPL on 53 points.

Liverpool - 5th in EPL on 50 points with a game in hand.

Aston Villa - 6th in the EPL on 48 points

Blackburn - 7th in the EPL on 45 points

Manchester City - 8th in the EPL on 45 points

Portsmouth - 9th in the EPL on 44 points with a game in hand.

Personally, I've got to give it to Everton. They're the team with the best chance of getting 4th not named liverpool..

Personally, I'm hoping that Everton can snag 4th because I think highly of many of their players (Howard, Cahill, Arteta) and Moyes. However, I still think that Liverpool will do enough to retain it.

Isn't the EPL going to get another CL spot next year, though?

as far as I know, Platini wants to reduce the CL spots in some countries (with 4) and increase them in others:|

I wouldn't like to see city or pool on the 4th place so I hope it will be another team. Can't say who will it be, because many things can change till the end of the championship, plus I didn't get to watch those team playing so I can judge only by their results, which sometimes do not corespond to the team's form.
Villa was close to getting 3 points from arsenal.
Everton also had a good game against Portsmouth, but I wouldn't like to see them in the CL, 'cause last time they qualified, if I'm not mistaken, they didn't get to the group stage and were beaten 1-5 by Dinamo Bucharest in the UEFA Cup. Shame!
But I guess i'm gonna vote for Pompey because I like Defoe

if portsmouth were a bit better at home this season they would definately be in the top 4 now.

imo its most likely to be either everton or liverpool. Liverpool have the more experienced and expensive players but if you look at the everton squad you cant knock them if they are all fit. I hear arteta may be out for a while if he has a surgery on his groin. He is a big player for them and if he is out they might struggle, mind you they have osman, cahil and peenar.

IMO it will most probably be liverpool but im rooting for everton. Lets just hope the key everton players dont get injured.
