I'm heading out for a sec, but I should be back.

Wanted to get the match thread going for this friendly since one wasn't up.

Has the makings of being a very, very good game. Along with a few subplots.

Who do you have to win?

Man, England were playing so well... and then.

Terry mismarks Anelka, causing James to upend him. Penalty.

Ribery scores... 1-0 so far...

Beckham has been playing extremely well.

I thought Wes Brown perfomed well, should be interesting to see if Capello persists and plays Wesley a lot more for England in the right full-back position.

I didnt get to see the game, but from the replays i saw on the soccer new they look ok. The penalty was junk, if he touched the ball would it have not been a free kick?

I'm glad Beckham got his cap and i did see him have a productive game. Made a few good crosses to (Rooney should of had it!) I didnt see much of the back half. How did they play? I dont know when the wcq start but we need to buckle down and start getting so better results cuz i would hate to not make it like euro.

I thought England played poorly. They have a real problem moving around, most of the players just kinda stand in the midfield looking out of place and overplayed. They just dont look like they compliment each other very well. Hargreaves was the exception, i thought he was great...he made the quick pass, chased down the ball, and was easily the best player they had out there.

Becks played well. He was one of the few players that showed any intensity, chasing the opposition down. Calling for the ball when the rest of the players were playing too narrow on the left side. i would have liked to see him and Bentley play together with Becks playing a more central role and the quicker Bentley playing the right wing.

Rooney chased the ball around but didnt really make too much of an impact. Gerrard played the shadow striker role and it actually appears it could work. As long as Gerrard isnt mucking up the midfield with errant passes then im happy. Wes Brown miffed an important clearance, by miffed i mean he completely missed the ball, so the streak of Wes Brown looking like a moron is still intact. Ashley Cole was on the pitch as well, but he's a cunt
