while they are rather pathetic, lets look at the motivation for all of this. Real has been booted from the CL, and are faltering in the League, losing to deportivo and valencia. the man is not going to keep his job at this rate and in my opinion he's playing politics with those comments. He's just trying to drum up support behind him from the fans, before they take the job from him.

As for them being a big club, can you point to what exactly they've done inthe last 7 years since the 2001 CL win that says they are worthy of the title. history is one thing, but one league win for a team that is heralded as being divinely created is more than i can take. Their hype is what has gotten them the label, and nothing more.

Secondly Ronaldo has a special relationship with some players such as Rooney, Evra, Anderson, Nani etc etc. He wont find that same relationship at real very easily and it would take a lot of time too. He is treated very well by the fans in general and he wont find the same stability and support he has at Manchester united if he goes real madrid.

I cant see Ronaldo leaving us, i doubt it would be in his best interest at the current moment in time for many reasons.

I honestly couldnt care what real madrid say. Carlos can tell Ronaldo himself whether or not the grass really is green there.

Real have shown in the past couple of seasons what a classless bunch of cnuts the board/management are. Sad state of affairs.

We are on no high horse. We talked about Hargo a lot ourselves and have caused a fair bit of speculation in the past too.

Granted we are no where near as bad as real madrid but we are guilty of unsettling a fair few players ourselves.

Agreed. Im just saying that if we talked about players such as Hargreaves, carrick and when we let speculation about the likes of veloso and benzema carry on when we were playing against them them, then it puts us in no position to point fingers at real madrid like fergie has done in the past.

I know two wrongs dont make a right but the reality is that we cant make legal complaints or go to fifa when we are guilty of doing similar things, they would just be all too happy to point out the hypocrisies.

However, Real madrid are in a league of their own when it comes to tapping up using media but we have done it too.

IMO FIFA should be tough on tapping up using the media but then comes the problem of deciding when its tapping up, when its just talking about football and when its just tactics.

You cant stop media speculations and there isnt much you can do about the little hints some managers give when responding to these speculations but in my opinion, any club talking this in depth about someone else's player should be punished.

tha tsiad this situation is slightly different. This guy is saying that ROnaldo WILL be with Real two years down the line. This isn't a situation where Hargreaves first comes out stating he wants the move yet there are no contract talks. This guy is just rambling.

As for Carrick, a lot of that talk happened in the summer and wasn't as much in the spring. Hargreaves is the real comparable

Unfortunately Ronaldo leaves the door open about playing in Spain. I think it's the only thing holding back fans from getting even more pumped up about him... from speaking of him as we speak of Cantona. My gut feeling is he will be in Spain in 4 years. If he stays he will likely retire as the best ever United player... if he leaves his United legacy will be tarnished, because you have to bleed United to touch people forever.

If Ronaldo does go to Real Madrid, I think he wont be the player he is at Man Utd, what makes Ronaldo so good at the moment is the way he links up with Rooney and Tevez. I don't think at Real he will be able to find the form he will at Man Utd for that reason, which is why I think and possibly he thinks (judging by the 150k a week news) that Real Madrid is not the best option for him to further his career Manchester United is.
