Default Mascherano slapped with fine and increased ban - 04-03-2008, 04:21 PM

Justice served.

Would have liked a longer ban, but 3 matches was expected.

Quote:
Liverpool midfielder Javier Mascherano has been banned for a further two matches and fined £15,000 following his behaviour after being sent off in the game against Manchester United on March 23, the Football Association have confirmed.

Mascherano was banned for one match after being shown two yellow cards by referee Steve Bennett at Old Trafford.

But the Argentinian has been banned for a further two games after he continued to protest after being shown the red card by the official.

Mascherano admitted a charge of improper conduct and has today been punished further by the FA, with the additional suspension coming into effect immediately.

More to follow...

Cant argue with the 3 matches though I'm sure Pool fans will have their panties in a bundle....

Fair enough Justice is cruel, but that's how it is.

To be honest, I didn't expect the FA to be so harsh.

The one match ban was automatic after the two yellows. The extra couple of matches were added on because he decided to be a dick and continue to beak at the ref after he was sent off.

I think he deserved what he got, but I'd rather the ban didn't kick in until after this upcoming weekend. I would actually like Liverpoop to beat Arsenhole on Saturday.
