What is your criteria for determining who is a football legend?
I'm just curious to the answer to this question.
It seems to be a wide and broad range of suggstions. Technical Atrributes. Leadership Abilities. Scoring Prowess. What is it for you. Because the term in my opinion, is thrown around on a regular basis for some players that really shouldn't be labelled as such. Tell me what your criteria is and then name some players that you believe are legends, but don't necessary get that across the board distinction. Please make sure to indicate whether you are talking about a club legend [one who is held in the highest regard by there clubs fans] and/or a football legend [high regard by many fans worldwide].

This would be my criteria
1. constant performance 2. devotion to the club 3. behavior outside the pitch I guess we all know United's legends, so I'll give other examples: Raul - Real Madrid, Paolo Maldini - Milan, Oliver Kahn - Byern, Carles Puyol - Barcelona etc.

i think world legends are generally players who have inspired their teams to World Cup success I have always classed world legends as players like Pele and Maradonna

I think if you're going to be labeled as a "legend" and you play for one of the top sides in Europe, the #1 quality is that you win silverware, mainly the League and/or the CL, and maintain it for a period of time. Trophies is what is most important.
