Default Kaka and Ronnie keen on Prem - 05-03-2008, 11:32 AM

Quote:
Tottenham defender Gilberto has revealed how compatriots Kaka and Ronaldinho are long-term admirers of the Premier League

When the Brazilian trio meet up on international duty the topic of conversation often turns to the English top-flight.

And Gilberto is convinced that the star duo would be interested in showcasing their skills in the Premier League.

Chelsea manager Avram Grant has previously expressed an interest in Milan star Kaka and Barcelona ace Ronaldinho, who is almost certain to leave Camp Nou this summer.

Top players

Gilberto told The Sun: "When we are with the Brazilian team, Kaka, Ronaldinho and I chat about the Premier League, especially with (Arsenal midfielder) Gilberto Silva who has been here so long.

"There is no reason why players like Ronaldinho and Kaka couldn't play in this country. With more Brazilian players here, there is more of an opening for our players.

"Before people used to think Brazilians wouldn't adapt so well to the style of play or the climate.

"Now some Brazilians are here doing well, adapting well and this will open the door for more.

"Brazilian players all believe the Premier League is the most difficult league. The top players in the world play here."

Do you think there is any chance to see this duo in Premier League next season? And which teams would need any on them and why?

very interesting, i also heard gattuso wants to come to the EPL .

If they do come, i think they may join chelsea depending on what happens to the likes of lampart and essien in the summer. They seem to be the most likely option because they have the money to spend and can afford the big wages but would they want to play under grant?

I think arsenal are too tight to spend big and i cant see why on earth they would go to liverpool.

That leaves united which are pretty saturated in midfield. Not that they arent good enough to make fergie re-shuffle a bit.

Man City is an option too. Their owner can afford that money if they stated that they wanted to place a bid for Ronaldinho.

Plus there's Spurs. If they sell Berbatov they can afford to bring Ronaldinho. Also I read somewhere that they placed a bid on David Villa.

About Kaka - I'm not that sure. Milan will ask a lot of money for him and there's only one club that can afford to pay loads of money - Chelsea. But the history may repeat itself and Kaka could become the next Schevchenko at Stamford Bridge.

Here's the article on Gattuso. If we didn't have so many midfielders I would be delighted to see Gattuso at OT. He really is a hardworking player and PL needs more fellas like him.

Quote:
AC Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has put England's top clubs on alert after admitting he would like to play in the Barclays Premier League.

Gattuso, 30, said: 'I would like to have the possibility to play in the Premier League. It's a dream I have always had and never hidden.'

They both seem like the type of player who would not be able to cope with the pace and strength of the EPL.

Kaka - plays in italy, and its evident in his play that he likes to be in space when he plays, a luxury that he will not find in the premier league.

Ronaldinho - again will not get the space he likes to play in or create as the EPL is too physical, and he will be knocked around by the bottom half of the table who look to mark him.

Overall id like them to be in the prem, to show that it is the best league in the world despite the weather.
