Don't think any club should block a player who wants to compete for their country under any circumstances.
Yes, the club pays the wages, but in many cases, the countries provide the platform for these players to develop and grow. And if they see fit to pay a small amount of gratitude back to their countries for their careers, it should be applauded. Not blocked. Quote:

sad really as its probably a dream of his to represent his country in the olympics like heinze did for united, but i guess the club is always gonna have the final say on a matter like this!
hopefully he gets angry and leaves for utd! ![]() that would be quite good! lol |

Yeah Funky, you have a point.
But what if he gets injured at NT? Like Fletchy? It's not in club's interest to let the player perform for NT if he comes back injured. Kaka is a creative player and he is fouled very often. One of those tackles can injure him and sideline Kaka for a long time.

well, the olympics are supposed to be u-23. Yes I know that liek 3 players over 23 can be selected to play, but I see nothing wrong with this.
Good on Milan. they're not barring all their players from taking part, as they're clearly going to allow the u-23's to be selected, but good on them for saying no one over 23 will go
