And that's exactly why I feel that having something like a points deduction or having to play behind closed doors or reducing ticket allocations for travel will encourage peer enforcement. If nothing else, it'll be a good deterrent. If I'm a season ticket holder making plans to travel to Europe for a big Champions' League match and my team's right in the thick of things in the championship, you had better believe that if I hear one racist statement uttered in the direction of any player on the field, I'm pointing fingers.

In this day of advanced technology in video surveillance, here is something that could be done.

Have video setups similar to how it's done in major casinos... have cameras setup to pinpoint a person in optimum clarity. They are position is sections and "concealed" to keep the atmosphere of the venue ordinary.

Being able to isloate home/visitor fans to ban, have charged/fined should be the way to go. It should be the responsibility of the home ground to act first and foremost. If a travelling supporter is found to be doing this, they should also be dealt with from there club. No ticket allocation for there home matches for example.

At the moment, no one seems interested in taking the clear initiative in acting to end this. A slap on the wrist here, a lil fine there isn't enough. Something needs to be done soon. Clubs shouldn't be waiting on Fifa/UEFA to deal with this...

Once again Eto'o is racially abused and once again it's swept under the rug.

How can a referee report that crowds were normal if this behaviour was going on? You mean to tell me that they behave this way all the time and nothing is done?

Eto'o racially abused again, claim reports

MADRID, Nov 2 (Reuters) - Barcelona striker Samuel Eto'o was the victim of racist chanting during the second half of Saturday's 4-1 Primera Liga win at Malaga, according to reports in the Spanish media.

One section of the crowd made monkey noises when the Cameroon international touched the ball and whistled at him when he was substituted near the end, newspapers including El Pais and Marca reported.

The referee's match report, published on the Spanish soccer federation's website, made no mention of abuse and described the behaviour of the crowd as "normal".

Racism remains an issue at sporting events in Spain and Eto'o has been targeted before.

In another incident earlier this season, Getafe's Ecuadorian forward Joffre Guerron was racially abused during a match at Sporting Gijon, according to the referee's report.

Renault's Spanish Formula One driver Fernando Alonso condemned racist supporters on Friday after hate messages were posted on a Spanish website targeting his British McLaren rival Lewis Hamilton.

Hamilton, the sport's first black driver, was also subjected to racial abuse from spectators at a test in Barcelona in February, after which Formula One's governing body launched an anti-racism campaign.

There was no immediate mention of the incident at Malaga in the post-match reports and comments by Barcelona officials and players posted on the club's website.

That's absolutely disgusting.

Seriously FIFA and UEFA ought to be ashamed of themselves, bitching about anything and everything that happens in England and letting stuff like this go unnoticed. I won't repeat what I've already said, but God...Football is being run by a bunch of incompetent buffoons.

Spainsh are at it again. This country really needs to be sorted out.

Funny how FIFA and UEFA don't take any serve action to stop , it would have completely different at this happened in England.
