Boost soccer's global profile? That's insane! Football is the most popular sport on the planet already, and it's only the people in North America who don't seem to have figured that one out. Bad idea, bad for the integrity of the game and the competition.

Sorry folks... this kind of thing is what the pre-season tours are for.

Agreed, i don't think there could be too many games of any variation in NYC at the same time for any of them to worry about not being sold out.
