Default Lampard Wants Juve Move - Report

Would be very interesting to say the least. Ranieri brought him to Chelsea and its been rumoured that he was extremely unhappy to see Mourinho ushered out.

If it happens, I think it would be a good thing for English football. More Englishmen, should play abroad. They get accustomed to new tactics, styles of play and it benefits the player and the NT.

Also, it would ease the meatpie production in England. Now everyone gets a chance to have one...

Quote:
Chelsea star Frank Lampard is desperate for a move to Juventus, according to the Corriere dello Sport.

The goalscoring midfielder is ready to quit Stamford Bridge after the recent departure of Jose Mourinho and would like a fresh challenge in a foreign country.

Juventus unsuccessfully tried to lure Lampard to Turin last summer but with his contract expiring in 2009, the Bianconeri would only need to fork out around £9m to get their man.

The key person in luring Lampard to Turin is Juve Coach Claudio Ranieri. It was the Tinkerman who was responsible for launching the East Londoner’s career when he signed him from West Ham in 2001.

The pair have an excellent relationship and Lampard was said to be devastated when Ranieri was axed by Roman Abramovich in 2004.

Juventus have made the signing of a top-class centre midfielder a priority as summer signings Tiago Mendes and Sergio Almiron have dreadfully failed to shine.

Lampard was in action last night during England’s 3-2 home defeat to Croatia. The 29-year-old scored a penalty but it was not enough as the Three Lions embarrassingly failed to qualify for Euro 2008.

Good for Frank, he should leave. No one in his country even appears to like him anymore, he is constantly booed, and unfortunately looked at as Gerrard's lesser half even though i personally think Lampard is the more intelligent and deadlier player. Im by no means a Lampard fan especially since i hate chelsea...but i could see myself definitely rooting for the guy if he was somewhere outside the Prem.

I honestly would love to see this happen not just because it would hurt Chelsea but because I feel like alot of the top players (young players as well) in England would probably benefit from such a shift. It would only help the NT as well. If Lampard does make the move then I wish him well.

Even though everyone in this post has said it's great that more Englishmen are playing abroad making more space for youngsters but unforuntately they aren't English anymore they're from flippin other countries.

I just hope the FA does something about Homegrown players and giving them more chances to play/be signed. English national team football is going downhill

how exactly are homegrown players not getting their chance exactly? I look at the bottom half of the league, and all the leagues under the Premiership and all I see is Englishmen. Maybe the fact that England can't get into a tournament has more to do with them having some mentally weak players, an absurd coach, an even more absurd media, and an even more absurd public, than the talent pool they're drawing from.

Oh and FYI - that Lampard pic makes me puke on sight

I can't see this happening, but it would be interesting to see nonetheless.

how devistated would you as a arse be?! You'd have to come up with half of a team of englishmen. Wenger might be a genius with youth, but last time I checked he wasn't a magician.

i think if you look at the englishmen who went to play abroad you rarely see a success...owen, ince, lineker, robbie keane, woodgate etc. shows the gulf in tactical differences really....

Any player move that's bad for Chelsea is good to me.
