i think england need some one to talk them back to basics and isnt afraid of being unpopular. He isnt afraid to axe players and that could well be a good thing. some players need axing, even if just for the short term.
perhaps fa were too hasty, there would have been little harm in waiting till January. However i think they got it right. The past managers in recent years have all lacked personality and presence, which i feel is important when dealing with smug and arrogant players who think they will win everything with minimum effort.

Couple interesting points that were brought up. One, will Capello ask for Scholes to come back into the fold and will Scholes accept. Two, will JT stay as captain or will Capello look elsewhere. And where does Beckham fit into the scheme for WC2010.

It's still hard to believe there's no England in Euro 2008, but at least it serves as a major wakeup call and finally forced the FA to see how far England has fallen.
