If Capello plans on having Beckham in his plans, he should be captain...no question

Beckham is too old. Whoever they choose as captain now, needs to do the job until at least the end of the world cup campaign in 2010. By then Beckaham will be hard pressed to make the squad, much less be an automatic choice for the first team.

@ the original story, the Daily Star is more of a comic than a newspaper. This story may well be just unsubstantiated rumour.

Rio is the man. He deserves it more than any other english player. I hope he'll also be United's captain(after Neville and Giggs). He'll be an outstanding leader. :-)
