I strongly believe the Ivorians will win the Cup, Drog and Toure brothers will be key players for the victory.

But what I'm going to look forward to is Angola games - to see how good Manucho really is.

Anyone find out the results of the Eygpt/Cameroon matchup?

***SPOILERS***

Damn!!! Very surprised that Egypt won by this margin. [4-2]

I figured Cameroon would be pretty strong in this tournament. Eto'o doing the business as usual, but no one else to support his efforts.

SPOILERS!!!!!!!

i wrote egypt off too but i was pleasantly suprised. The thing is we played well too and the goals werent too bad at all. Mohamed Zidan is really good for us. We are 100x better without mido. His personality disrupted the unity on the side, look at us now....

Piss off, im not bais at all

Egypt will kick some ass this tournament and 96.77% of UZ members agree. The rest are liverpool fans

Mr. Calculator himself, Michael Essien scored a goal against Morocco. Ghana have now qualified for the quarter finals.

Quote:
ACCRA, Jan 28 (Reuters) - Michael Essien scored a goal and set up another as Ghana beat Morocco 2-0 to reach the African Nations Cup quarter-finals as Group A winners on Monday.
Essien opened the scoring in the 26th minute and then set up Sulley Muntari for the second just before halftime as Ghana completed a clean sweep for nine points from three matches.
The tournament hosts will stay in Accra for their quarter-final on Sunday. They will know the identity of their opponents on completion of Group B on Tuesday.
Guinea finished second in the group to also progress while Morocco and Namibia were eliminated.
Muntari set up Essien for the opening goal with a quickly taken free kick that found the midfielder in enough space to score from close range.
The favour was returned when Essien ran at the Morocco defence in the 45th minute and slipped a pass for Muntari to net his second of the tournament.
Muntari hit the crossbar in the second half and Asamoah Gyan had a close-range effort miraculously saved by Morocco's goalkeeper Nadir Lamyaghri.
"We decided before (the match) we were going to attack and attack. We decided to make more room for Essien to take charge and to come forward," Ghana coach Claude Le Roy said.
"My players must be thanked for perfect application of our plans. They played so well and with such dedication," he told reporters.
Essien said it had been one of his best games for the national side. "I want to do my best for my country and to help win the title," he said.
"We now have to look ahead and build a new squad," said Morocco coach Henri Michel after Morocco's elimination in the first round for the second successive Nations Cup. (Editing by Rex Gowar)

SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!!!!1

Its a good thing i hate gambling because if i did, the world will be skint.

Egypt just destroted IC 4-1 in a thriller, well imo anyway. Egypt were 1-0 early on through a great goal and they held onto that and defended well. IC coast then commited too many men forwards + their keeped got injured so egypt went on to have a field day.

Egypt now go on to play cameroon. This is somewhat similar to 2006 where egypt played IC first then went on to play them in the finals.

Im so delighted but i feel that 5 years have been knocked off, watch the match if you wanna know why.

egypt won the final 1-0 and it should have been much much more.

i cant beleive it tbh. Egypt have completely transformed. The side isnt built around a big talented player(s) like most sides. It's built around team work and its clear that although egypt dont have the best players ( imo ivory coast do) but egypt are the best team in africa.

Despite the disorgantion which I read about from NT coaches, the play on the pitch throughout the tournament was fantastic.

Fair play to Egypt for winning the tournament. They definitely played as a team and there flowing football was great to watch.

Man, Ivory Coast were a massive disappointment to me. I expected a lot more from them.

Manucho was fantastic and I'm excited to see how he does on his loan stint. For 3.5 million pounds is it? I think United might have found themselves the striker a lot of us have been complaining United should have.
