Who will progress out of Group C?

I think france, italy and holland are all very closely matched in terms of strength but i think that france and italy will progress.

I think although the france squad is aging, there is some world class young talent emerging and it would be very interesting to see how they do. I think domonech knows what he is doing.

Their new striker "the panther" gomis will surprise a few people. He wont be starting but he may come off the bench to replace henry or benzema. He reminds me of drogba a bit.

I think france have suffered since zidane retired but i think they have enough quality to out play holland and italy.

Having time to think about this I think I've finally settled on two teams.

1. France - There team is absolutely staked. They have numerous playmakers and some amazing forwards to finish. Don't be fooled by there last qualifier result [0-0 against paraguay]. They will score goals at will.

2. Netherlands - They have a great balance of youth and experience heading into this tournament. Losing Babel was a huge blow, but they have enough in the midfield and definitely in there forward line to get the job done.

I have a feeling that Italy is just going to be the shock in this group. They are going to get outclassed by a revenge seeking France and a underachieving, "want to show the world what they're made of" Netherland side.

As for Romania. Sorry Mark... They are going to get schooled.

Two teams that progress:
France-want to get the revenge against Italy and too good for Netherlands;
Romania-the main shock of the tournament,could get something more than expected from this group stage;

Staying at home:
Italy-underachieving and not at all confident,met by a strong resistance and tenacity from France,hard-working Romania and "the team that has yet to prove it is from Europe"-Netherlands.
Holland-nothing more,nothing less: not gaining anything despite battling hard.

reckon france will go through wid holland!

france seem very strong everywhere and holland have electric pace to upset anyone!

think the cannavaro factor will affect italy massively and even though they have support, i just dont think they have enough going forward!

but i could well be wrong! lol

Its the most difficult group, anyone of those team can finish 1st...

They are all great teams but france and italy seems to finish top of that group..

Would wish to see netherland progress rather than france...
