Fergie eyes unbeaten run

Quote:
Sir Alex Ferguson feels Manchester United may have to go unbeaten for the remainder of the campaign if they are to retain their Premier League title.

The Red Devils have lost three times in the league this term along with third placed Chelsea, while Arsenal have suffered defeat just the once from their 24 games.

Ferguson has seen the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal go on long unbeaten runs in the past and with the title race neck-and-neck, he hopes his troops can be near-perfect for the rest of the season.

"I have to look at where the dangers are going to come from and I have to say to myself 'Will they go through the season undefeated?'," he said on Sky Sports News.

Nothing for granted

"Chelsea have done that in the past and so have Arsenal. So I'm taking nothing for granted. We may have to. It's getting really tight now.

"Chelsea have five players back from the Africa Cup of Nations after the 10th. Arsenal have the two Ivory Coast lads back as well, although they are looking favourites for the tournament.

"I'm hoping for an Ivory Coast and Ghana final. Avram Grant and Arsene Wenger know which final I'm hoping for. I'm even hoping there's going to be a replay."

Sunday 23rd March
Man Utd vs Liverpool

Sunday 30th March

I could not exclude a draw with Spurs considering their recent good form.

considering we have to play at stanford bridge and at home to arsenal and liverpool, i'm not sure all the points are wrapped up, but i have to say the rest of the schedule looks pretty good. The question is, how will the FA Cup matches and the Champions League matches affect us? Even with the extra players, there is something about the mentality of the club, one week to the next that makes it really difficult. It's emotionally draining as a club to constantly beat agains the glass of the trophy case.
