There is a very good chance that it will be more than 5 years. Zeus wrote an article on Tevez recently: Wild Apache | Terrace Talk : The Official Blog of United Zone

and in it he quotes him saying he wouldn't be against spending almost all his career with United.

5 years,nice!
If he stays more that will be fantastic, but if he ends his career at United we should be delighted within his loyalty to the club!

I honestly think he will be staying till the end and work even as a coach for United!

That means that i wish him to be as loyal as Giggs,at least! He has a lot to offer to this team and its fans,to us!Just looking at this season records you gotta say that tevez has given the best he could!

latin-based players never get like this, not even when they are from the same continent. I see Tevez finishing his contract and returning to Argentina, if anything.

I agree with Iron Maiden. Tevez has already been twice as loyal as most Latin players outside there home country at this point and I think there is a good chance he'll ride out his career with United. Somebody else also mentioned what a powerhouse Rooney, Tevez, and Ranaldo would be after another 3 or 4 seasons and I totally agree, but I have a feeling we'll lose Ranaldo before then. Even if that happens, I'll still be more than elated with a veteran Rooney/Tevez duo.

He's done excellent following his move to Old Trafford.I can't think of a United lineup without him.

I wouldn't discount Tevez's desire to return to Boca in 5 years time.

I look no further than Riquelme to planning to play a year free for Boca to know the importance some Argentina footballers hold playing for there home club means.

Tevez will have enough time to stamp his status at United and then at Boca thereafter.

I personally don't hold it against him and know that his attitude/temperment will not let him give anything less than 100%.

At the very least, United are prepared now for his departure and can plan ahead instead of being shocked by the announcement.

Who knows, he could change his mind...
