Tweety will definitely be able to assist with the rotation when he returns. Noticed that Evra has played A LOT of matches.
Very important that Evra gets some rest and Silvestre will be able to provide that.
Obviously, he needs some matches to get match fit.
On a personal note, if Silvestre returns to the first team before Gary Neville, I think the alarm bells should be getting a lot louder for Mr. Neville's career.

FOUNDER OF THE KEEP BERBATOV AWAY FROM UNITED CAMPAIGN!!!
ROFL! I read it too this morning, and my heart jumped to my mouth. Here's hoping he stays away from the first team for as long as possible.
Imagine him without match fitness! And then imagine him behind the ever-green Ryan Giggs, whose current form makes his year 2001 form look like Zidane in his prime!
"Sly Boogy that's his name, un-huh, and he's here to run the game!"
Evra, Rio and vida have had little rest this season and when we get closer to the end of the season it will really show. I think rio has played one more than evra and vida, though im not sure.
Tweety can act as good cover i suppose but i really question the role he has to play at united in the future.
I mean we have evans x 2, simpson, oshea, pique aswell. I know that pique and jonny evans dont play LB but they can play RB and free other fullbacks who can play on both flanks to play LB.
Tweety is a liability at most times and average at the best of times. He should have took up that offer to join Marseille or lyon 2 years ago though i respect him for his loyalty.

which is why we give active members who post quality, media and pic room access.
which asks the question, if the midfield gets revolved so much, why don't we just have pique play a bit more often? isn't rest for the back four as important as rest for the rest of the team or is SAF just full of it

well, fergie has 20+ years as a pro manager more than everyone on here and a great majority of united fans in general. There might be a reason behind it though we might not see it.
If a midfielder misses a pass, times a tackle poorly or misses a header its not a big deal because you should have 4 players behind him. If a defender makes a mistake it often proves more costly.
I think fergie is scared to drop points from school boy errors such as the one pique made when he had a sudden urge to run towards the ball and totally miss a header, which then resulted in a goal.
Perhaps the likes of pique should get more games, they are good players dont get me wrong. I just think fergie is going for reliability and stability atm.
you do have a point because the defenders must get exhausted and it all adds up over a season, i just hope that it doesnt pose a problem as it did this time last season when we had half our defense out with injury.

This thing is, when we replace let's say Giggs with Nani, or Fletcher with Park, or Scholes with Anderson, or Carrick with Hargreaves, we get equal performance from the player coming on, or maybe better. That won't be the case if we replace Vidic or Snoop "Doggfather" Dogg with Pique. Not by a long shot. At this time of the season, it's a risk not worth taking.
We can't put him in the games against teams lowly placed in the league, as they're fighting relegation, we can't put him against the 4th-5th place hopefuls for obvious reasons, and super-obviously not against Chelsea or Arse.
Maybe, just maybe, put Pique/Simpson as RB, put Brown as CB with Snoop, and give Vidic a rest, and in the next game, leave out Evra, and put Sly in.
WARNING - Doing both these changes in the same game might result in a loss of both patience and title.
Tweety will definitely be able to assist with the rotation when he returns. Noticed that Evra has played A LOT of matches.

I've seen/known of professional players who, after reaching a certain point in their career where they might otherwise be a step behind in other areas of the pitch where they previously played, elect to convert to a defensive role.
Ferdinand has played 38 matches so far this season. Vidic and Evra 37. Brown 35 with 3 sub appearances. O'Shea 15 with 15 sub appearances. Pique 6 with 3 sub appearances. Simpson 4 and 4.
Look, all due respect to the pace of the match and the toll it takes on players physically, but we're talking about professionals here. Players in their physical primes and blessed with the benefit of millions of dollars in equipment and technology and personnel to help them stay in match-fit condition.
It's not as if we're talking about an 80-match season.
And on topic, while the return of Silvestre may in fact add depth, that's about the only plus I can see from him. I don't care how many times he's scored against Liverpool--he's been a defensive liability and I hold my breath out of fear far more than out of anticipation whenever play approaches him.
