Defensive Line up vs liverpool (without Rio )

well as you can see if you view the injury thread, Rio is a doubt vs liverpool.

If he doesnt start, which defensive line up would you want and why?

i think 2 and 5 can be the starting line up for sunday its rio is absent..

None of those above. I really don't wanna see Brown at the moment. Against Bolton he played awfully bad. I would choose this one:

------------- Pique ----- Vidic-----------
O'Shea-----------------------------Evra

Pique played very well on Wednesday and, though O'Shea wasn't brilliant, I'd rather see him on the pitch, than Brown!

SAF will surely find the best among his available players to use in defence... hop they are simply at there very best...

Assuming MC is used in midfield, Owen could be used in defence which would work.

The reason i chose 2 is because i think Pique lacks the pace to deal with the likes of babel and torres.

I know that brown and oshea are no sprinters either but imo they are more likely to keep torres and babel at bay because of their experiences in big matches before.

Oshea just has to play, I refuse to forget that goal

brown has been getting a fair bit of stick and i actually think he hasnt been too bad for us. His crosses are mostly shit but he is good defensively, except when he starts day dreaming.

i would not be shocked if this ended up being an incredibly tight midfield battle, because hargreaves is chosen as dm to protect the back four. I'd rather keep brown in the position he's played all season, than have pique and him both be more uncomfrtable.

as for o'shea, he's as slow as pique and is more likely to do something stupid. Pique in central and brown on the right ftw.

agree with GCM... Hargreaves will definitely be playing if Rio isn't fit, to help protect the backline.

Backline no.1 with O'Shea/Vidic in cb will be the starting lineup if Rio isn't able to go.

There is NOOOOOOO way Pique starts against Liverpool. He hardly has any matches under his belt....
