This is the new manchester united people.

We no longer breed players through the rank, instead we go and sign youngsters for 25million quid.

My concern is not so much the big signings we bring in. It's not allowing our youngsters to get a chance to play on the first team.

Fletcher, O'Shea.

Those are the last to actually stick around and get minutes.

Rossi deserved a chance. His stints in Italy were fantastic. That idiot Roeder didn't give him a proper run out while at Newcastle... and I fail to believe that the United staff would base his worth in the EPL on that stint.

If we don't give more youngsters a chance, we might as well close up the youth academy. Who's next to leave our youth ranks? Pique? Evans? Martin? Cathcart?

i don't disagree, but when it comes to goals, United don't give people a chance. you're either a star from the get go or you're not. With the competition we have and the overlapping skill sets, and an absolutely miniscule frame (particularly on set pieces), were probably enough to show him the door.

who would you rather have, tevez or rossi. i love the kid, but come on, if you keep on choosing youth over proven talent, you might start facing serious problems.

I would have preferred Rossi to Tevez, Kia and there bags of scandal.

This would have been my preferred striker lineup

Rooney
Adriano [that's right... I said it ]
Saha [or someone who isn't injured 2-3 months out of the season]
Rossi
Ole

Saha and Rossi are interchangeable with Rooney and Adriano.

Adriano would sell for a lot less than Tevez and fits exactly what we need in a striker (heading, clinical finisher, poacher, speed). SAF would straighten him right out. He's still young (24 me thinks) and would be someone

I seem to have to resort to saying... in SAF we trust. But, I'm very unhappy with the lack of youth players giving a proper chance in the 1st team.

and with Rossi being one of the brighter prospects being sold, there really isn't a chance for anyone else. I will be extremely gutted if Pique is sold.

Adriano is as overrated as they get mate. I hope United stay as far from him as possible.

Least we are playing some home-grown youth talent!

Cathcart and Eagles both got a few run outs last season.
Those two and Lee Martins should be gettin that this season.
I dont mind us buyin in young talent instead of growing it, I'd just prefer it was more home-grown.

Adriano is simply out of favor and disillusioned at a club where they have quality frontmen and you arent allowed too long a run of poor form. If we got him at a good price, worked with his fitness and showed the confidence in him then I see no reason why he wouldnt bag the goals in bunches for us. When in form this guy can bang them in from anywhere, all he needs is a change of scenery and some support from the lads. Rooney I feel would help him out tremendously with his unselfishness and in turn be given alot more freedom as you cant just stick any sissy defender on Adriano. If I could sin him, I would. 25 goals in 37 games for Brazil isnt a fluke.
