Default 7 League "finals" ***SPOILERS***

Have to applaud Patrice Evra for not taking United's league lead for granted.

He firmly believes that winning the remaining 7 epl matches will secure the title for United.

The question to you is this.

How many of the seven remaining matches will United win and which of the remaining fixtures will be troublesome for United.

Here are the remaining fixtures:

United's Seven 'Finals'
The Reds' remaining fixtures in the 2007/08 Barclays Premier League season are as follows:

29 Mar - Aston Villa - Old Trafford [4 - 0 United win]

6 Apr - Middlesbrough - Riverside
13 Apr - Arsenal - Old Trafford
19 Apr - Blackburn - Ewood Park
26 Apr - Chelsea - Stamford Bridge

3 May - West Ham - Old Trafford
11 May - Wigan Athletic - JJB Stadium

Poll added.

Quote:
Pat primed for final push

Patrice Evra wants to maintain a big match mentality as United approach the final seven fixtures of the league season.

The French left-back helped the Reds to produce a powerhouse performance against archrivals Liverpool and insists all remaining games should be treated in the same way by the champions.

"Psychologically it was very good for us to win against Liverpool," says Evra.

"It was a massive game, an important one for the fans and for the club. But we have seven games left to play and we need to win them too. They are like seven finals. We have the destiny of the title in our hands, that's why I hope we continue to win."

Wes Brown's rare goal against Liverpool means Evra is the only member of this season's regular back four not to have scored in this campaign. But Patrice was nonetheless delighted for his fellow defender.

"I think Wes has had an unbelievable season. He works hard every day, in every training session and he's played for United for a long time so it's great for him to score the first goal against Liverpool. I'm very happy for him."

7 is my favorite number

Now seriously, the only ones that can pose problems are Chelsea - because we play at Stamford Bridge - and Arsenal.

Also I'm worried about the match with West Ham. If I'm not mistaken we haven't won the last 3 EPL matches against the hammers.

But our squad is strong enough to cope and I expect them to win all 7 remaining games.

4 I say:

Manchester United vs Aston Villa Birmingham - an easy win

Middlesbrough vs Manchester United - this is a tricky one I'd say, Middlesbrough at home are really solid against the top four (arsenal lost there, liverpool drawn), most of all though, at this stage, they need to keep points at their own ground to survive.

Manchester United vs Arsenal Londyn - we can deal with them at OT, no problem

Blackburn Rovers vs Manchester United - fucking Blackburn, I can see us drawing this game

Chelsea Londyn vs Manchester United - they're great atm, don't think we'll able to steal all 3 points from their home ground

Manchester United vs West Ham United - payback time, easy win

Wigan Athletic vs Manchester United - hopefully they will secure their place in the premiership for another year till then, if so, we'll be fine, otherwise we can have a lil problem here as well.

I may sound a bit pessimistic here, but I'm just cautious, that's all
Fingers crossed for a 7 straight wins though

I hope it will be five,but four may be just enough:

The Villans,Wigan and Boro-we must look for a win in these matches,other result cannot be accepted(A draw will not be an justified outcome at this stage of the season);

Vs. Chelsea-It can go either way,we might just be pleased with a draw at Stamford Bridge;

Arsenal-Will concentrate on Champions League Campaign,but will also want to please the fans, it will not be this time as the game is on Old Trafford;

West Ham-tough game,but could prove to be not important if Chelsea and Arsenal will stumble somewhere...On the other hand I hope this is not the game that decides it all(We must win);

Blackburn-dont know what to expect,a draw maybe.

i say we win six!
well villa, boro, and wigan will be a cakewalk. West Ham and Blackburn might put up a fight but we should clear them no prob.
Arsenal have been slipping in the past month or so plus the defeat in the FA Cup (i think it was) I hope will freak them out.
Now Chels i see as a problem. Depending on who is fit for defending Joe Cole and Drogba could cause alot of headaches!

We need 17 points out of the maximum 21. That's 5 wins and 2 draws. Of course, that number changes with every dropped point for the others in the race.

No real gimmes at this point of the season, even from the mid-table teams safe from relegation. Besides the matches vs. Arsenal and Chelsea, I'm really glad we have Villa and West Ham at home. Blackburn on the road and Wigan on the last day of the season away in what might be a survival match for them give me some cause for concern.

The good thing for us at this point is that Arsenal and Chelsea have to beat us, because no draw against us favors them chasing from behind. If all three win out with the exception of draws against each other, we end up with us at 90, Chelsea with 87, and Arsenal with 86. And they both still need to play Everton, themselves fighting for a possible CL spot and at the very least an UEFA Cup spot.

I wish I could have the confidence of some that United will just run rampant through the remainder of the schedule, but teams aren't simply going to roll over simply because they don't have a chance at the league title themselves. Past history, recent form, and even the reverse fixture with them all go out the window at kickoff, if you ask me. Plenty of teams would still dearly love to play the role of spoiler, and that's why I am actually worried about a couple of the matches left.

It's tough, but doable.

Default Time stands still for Fergie

Sir Alex is getting impatient.

Still some tricky draws to face. Boro this weekend is going to be tough.

Quote:
United boss expects tense finish to season

Sir Alex Ferguson has admitted that Manchester United's final six Premier League games will feel like 'a lifetime'.

The reigning champions are five points clear of nearest challengers Chelsea, with Arsenal one further back, as they look for their 10th top-flight title since 1992.

Ferguson, who has previously referred to this stage of the season as 'squeaky-bum time', has demanded that his players focus fully on their own fixtures and attempt to forget about their title rivals.

United's next test comes on Sunday when they travel to Middlesbrough, live on Sky Sports 1, while Arsenal are at home to Liverpool and Chelsea face Manchester City on Saturday.

And with only two more fixtures out of their remaining six at Old Trafford, the Scot knows his side will have to perform on their travels.

Nerves and shocks

He said: "The most important thing now is that we do our own job because we have come to the stage of the season where every game is as good as a league decider.

"We only have two home games left to play, with away games at Boro, Blackburn, Chelsea and Wigan, so we know we have to make sure our away form stays strong.

"We are approaching the finishing line, so there is not a long time to go. But sometimes in title races, the end can seem like a lifetime away.

"Nerves are going to play a part and there will be shocks, but we just have to stay consistent because the team that is most consistent will win the league."
