Well I dont know how the hell you came up with this statement, I am in the south stand right near to the tunnel and believe me these people aint quiet at all, we all join in with the Stretford End in the singing, the only reason that sometimes its quiet, is when all the season ticket holders cant go then they give their tickets to people who dont usually go to the matches and these people are either nervous and excited and dont know the words to the songs but they are learning lol.

there are definite patches of exuberance, and i don't doubt that randy is just posting a daft comment

for those going to the arsenal match this weekend:

Quote:
United supporters driving to Saturday's game against Arsenal are being advised to park carefully.

The Emirates Stadium is situated in a residential area and there is a residents-only parking scheme in operation in the roads surrounding the ground.

Only people with residents permits are allowed to park in the designated areas and any cars parked illegally will be towed away.

Travel by coach instead?

Supporters seeking alternative transport may wish to book a place on one of the club's official coaches. These will depart from Old Trafford's N2 car park at approximately 6am on Saturday, returning at 7.30pm (estimated).

Coach seats priced £30 can be booked on 0870 442 1994, subject to availability.

I've been in the north stand lower tiers and find it just to quiet. The east stand is a lot more lively with more people singing. The top tier in the north stand has a good atmosphere but nothing can beat the stretford end. I usually buy my tickets direct from manutd.com, I've only got e-membership so end up with whatever hasn't been sold! Doesn't matter though, I still get to see United!

which part of the streford end? i've been to the middle lower, but i think from now on I end up in the upper level. I was fairly disappointed with the atmosphere to be honest. The experience was incredible, but I would have liked a little more...enthusiasm. I think that the atmosphere is different from one game to the next, but I must say, that some of the English need to pull the stick out of their asses and not be so self conscious.

I think thats a fair point, the atmosphere does change from game to game. The best experience I had was at Roy Keanes testimonial. We were in the west stand in the corner next to the celtic fans, and it was just incredible. My ears were ringing and i,d lost my voice by the end. The best part was when both sets of fans sang "there's only one Keano!". Some matches you can hear a pin drop when the game isn't going well, but all it takes is one good run down the wing, a good cross or even a crunching tackle in midfield and the crowd can erupt at any second. There's always something special to see at a United game.
I guess it's just pot luck how the atmosphere will be, the only guarantee of a good one would be a really important cup match against the likes of liverpool, city arsenal or one of the big european teams. Unfortunately tickets for those matches are rare.
The most important thing is to get to Old Trafford and just enjoy yourself,

I'm thinking of going to the Arsenal or Liverpool games as they are near my birthday. Can anyone offer me any other good websites or places to get tickets for the games and how much do they cost because i don't want to be ripped off.

How's the treatment of yanks there, say an american stood up and shouted something, would they say something to you?

When I was in London, I heard people say f****n Americans, after we said excuse me.

What would you say the best away stadium is to go to? I would want to see a good game so a mid table team, with easy access and price. I was thinking Everton, but I don't know about the shite hole that is the city of Liverpool.
