Because the dropoff from him to the next right back is more when compared to switching Giggs out for Nani or Park?

Giggs is a United legend, no doubt, and he can set his own terms as far as I'm concerned, but there is no doubt that Nani creates more when he is on the pitch. I hope Giggs retires with glory after this season or after next at the latest. He shouldn't need to be put on the bench week in and week out, but the facts are pretty clear... this great man is nearing the end of his fantastic career.

what's up with the poll?

Yes. He's past it. Time for Nani, Park, Fletcher to step up! - 0 - 0%
No. Are you crazy? Giggs has another season in him to start. - 10 - 90.91%
The Sun should stop wasting trees on which there shite is printed on. - 8 - 72.73%

Since when 90.91% + 72.73% = 100%

I think you guys forgot to cash your reality cheques. 1994 called, and they're looking for you.

GIGGS IS WAY PAST IT. Apart from 2 months last season, he has done fuck all since 2000. Well I know the a-legend-can't-do-anything-wrong rule but this is extreme!

Amazing.

Hmmm, did you see the match against' Roma this week?

I think Sir Alex has done a good job of utilizing Giggsy the past couple of seasons. Of course you aren't goign to get the same consistent performance. He's 34 ffs.

But what you will get are:

- consistent corners
- consistent crosses in the box
- placement and movement well leading or being part of a United attack

Giving Giggs a game once a week hasn't been detrimental to the side. You need experience on the pitch in crucial moments and Giggs provides that.

Giggs career is just about up. I think everyone knows that. But again, he has been a positive to the team as oppose to a negative.

Well look who it is....

I think RL summed it up perfectly. He's simply not been good enough this season. Our play has stepped up a gear and i don't think Giggs can manage that right now. The thing that annoys me most is that he seems to give the ball away a lot more now, and that really has nothing to do with pace...: (

Of course Giggs age does rob his advantage. That is his pace. He kind like Ronaldo who like to

take on his opponent but lately he has develop his game to another dimension.

He does a short passing or play behind the striker. I think he did well sometimes in that

position. SAF may needs his experience at least another year for Nani to learn all the

trick. After 18 years play for United Giggs knows when the time comes for him to hang

his boots.

Giggs hasn't had his best season this year although he still does show some great touches.

I have seen probably 2 of his worst ever perfomances this season yet some weeks the old head can still run the game. It is clear he doesn't play the same game as he used to but at his age he can't. He needs to play differnet to keep him fit and ready.

I would give Giggs next season too, to play an important role, sharing games with Nani. We must not forget that Park has been injured and Nani or Ronaldo could pick up an injury.

After that Giggs must settle for an odd game or should retire whilst he's still at the top

since 2002/03 when he first started getting criticism for performance, he's always bounced back or proved to the fans that he s still the real deal.

this year however, he's not shown that he can do that. I think that s why most fans say he s done.

It just seems to me that since he's lost most of his pace, he is much easier to be marked and therefore not the threat he was. Also, throughout this year there have been many times where I cursed my tv because he made a bad pass or miscontrolled a pass. I don't know, maybe its lack of concentration.

I still think he can be utilized still but I think Europe especially is the wrong place, because that is the place where possession and the lack of mistakes is essential.

I disagree on comments that Fergie has utilized him well this year. As stated earlier, I just think Giggy's made too many mistakes this year.
