Mikel Silvestre has become crucial -

So I'm one of the first that has spoken out against him in the last few years, and I really am ashamed. He's disgustingly loyal and while that is usually enough of a quality for me to love a player, in his case his dumb mistakes drove to hate his style. Still it's moments like this
and his brace against the scousers that force me take note and just aww at his greatest attributes.
In contrast to the Judas, he now becomes massive. Where does now he fall inthe pecking order? I'd place him after Evra, but with the young boy scoming up, you'd have to question the need for a 50k salary. Furthermore, it's obvious he is now a necessity, but are we able to overlook his past mistakes?
The Frenchman admits he is still hurting after being overlooked for a place in last season's FA Cup final, due to the emergence of left-back Patrice Evra.
Speaking of his FA Cup final omission, Silvestre told the News of the World: "Alex Ferguson knocked on my door at 11am on the morning of the game to tell me I wasn't playing.
"Can you imagine how that felt? He did his best to dress it up saying I hadn't played a lot in the run-up to the game, I was still coming back from injury and he wanted to keep me fresh.
"I didn't want to here it. I didn't expect to be dropped and it was a huge blow."
we may need him, more than he needs us right now.

i quite like this bloke tbh, when he has a few games in a row he can out on some good performances, but clumsy mistakes have built him up a reputation that may be hard to live down.
also, as you mentioned he is very loyal, for the last 2 seasons he could have went lyon but he said he will stay and fight for his place, and he hasnt moaned much tbh.
we will see what will happen, i dont think he has become crucial,
i think he wills still always be second best to evra, but if he get injured we may need to play him there. i think he will be pretty easy to replace too imo.
we will see, only a couple of days till the EPL starts

I would like Tweety sold. Loyalty gets you no where if you just suck. Which is what Tweety does on a regular basis.
I would personally like the Judas (Heinze for those not up to speed) to be sold/exchanged for Chiellini. If this kid is as good as everyone says, it's a bonus for United.
With that said... He really is needed now, unless Evans can play lb or that suggestion I made happens. We could always stick O'Shea there, but besides that judas c$#t Heinze, Tweety is next up to backup Evra.

I personally have no clue who chiellini is, but i'd like to say that you can't do both. you can't get rid of Silvestre and Judas. O'Shea isn't a proper left back and honestly I trust him less than Silvestre, who for all of his bone head moves, is still better than O'Shea. You really can't be thin in that position.
Which of our young lads can handle left back.

There's no doubt we now need a LB. Silvestre is useless, as we saw in the Charity Shield with SWP running rings around him. O'Shea is a good backup but i wouldn't mind one more backup player for that spot. Not Chiellini, as this would just bring another player who should be a starter, for a backup position. We need a youngster to bring in aged 18 or so.
In my mind, we need to get young players in that are ready to challenge the starters for spots. Many positions in the United squad have that.
Judas is a goner. I really can't see him staying, especially with his desire that he wants to leave. Tweety is not a suitable backup to Evra. Furthermore, a bunch of teams are enquiring about his services... We should get what we can from him and let him be shite for another team. O'Shea can play some games there, but he isn't an ideal backup. Chiellini would be imo the answer. Young player that is quality and would get time to work into the United lineup. He would keep Evra on his toes and would give Evra rest to perform at his best throughout the season.
Pique, Evans and Simpson. Do any play lb?

This story is bollocks. Period. End of. Tweety was still injured during the FA Cup final. He hadn't played in AGES (since Lille at home iirc) and how could he be "dropped" from a squad he hadn't been a part of due to inury?
