Real Madrid chief Mijatovic: Signing Ronaldo is impossible

Real Madrid sporting director Predrag Mijatovic has conceded it would be 'impossible' to sign Manchester United winger Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

Mijatovic was quoted as saying on Tuesday that the Spanish giants were looking at Ronaldo to become the new 'face' of the club, in a similar way to former France playmaker Zinedine Zidane during his time at Madrid.

Mijatovic has made no secret of his admiration for the 23-year-old Portugal international, but admits there is no chance of taking him to the Bernabeu any time soon.

'Right now it is impossible to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. Who would not like to have him in their team? But we need to be realistic because his would be a very difficult signing,' said Mijatovic, who also denied he had met with United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz.

'There has been talk about lots of things that have nothing to do with reality. They have also said I have been seen with Carlos Queiroz and it is not true,' the former Madrid striker added in Marca.

Is this guy running the show at the Bernabeu? Why does this guy think he has to mention Ronaldo in every one of his sentences. One day he says he wants Ronaldo for whatever amount of $$$ and the next day he says its impossible. Maybe after Ronaldo got pissed because of the speculation, he gave the Real chief a ring and told him to keep his mouth shut. I could only hope so.

Maybe now this guy will keep his mouth shut. Ronaldo and Queiroz are going NOWHERE.

This is Real's game. They do this every sign year and fifa do nothing about it.

They talk and make big statements about wanting to sign players when they are fully under contract. Then when the players team makes there "piss off" statements, Real run with there tail between there legs.

All in the name of unsettling players. Simply pathetic.

For such a historical club, the last few seasons they have done there best to be the butt of jokes among football fans.

I guess those dick-heads are tired of chitchatting. Really annoying lately.

That's why I don't like madrid. All they know is to buy players, throwing money around, not grow them. Pathetic really.
