Default Glowing report for Carrick

"Michael's been a terrific buy and has had a wonderful season. We're very pleased with him," declared Sir Alex.

"When he first arrived here he didn't get in the team right away. That can sometimes happen as you saw with Nani and Anderson earlier this season. It can take time to adapt.

"But once Michael started playing alongside [Paul] Scholes it really helped him. He really matured when Scholes was out injured and he's developed very well.

"The challenge of coming to Manchester United was a good one. He's playing with a squad of really good players which always helps. And you've seen this season a player reaching the top of his game."

If anyone votes for anything other than "better than last season", I question your knowledge of football or assume that you must not be a United supporter. Carrick has HELD IT DOWN in the midfield quietly but very effectively.

Carrick is having really a second good season at OT.. he did show that he do have lots inside him and that he is helping the team a lot..

When he was transfered from spurs to united, many thought he might not be the one needed, but it was not the case about him...

For me, he is going to progress more and more during games he played..

The good thing about all these, its that he is enjoying his football..

Yes, I agree with you mates. Carrick played this season really well. He got along with Anderson and Hargreaves, and of course his last season's partner Scholsey!

I think Michael should thank SAF for trusting him, as many of the fans were disappointed in Carrick's performance in the first half of the season.

In the near future I expect Michael to be a key midfielder. He has still got to improve to demonstrate that he deserves to wear the No16 shirt!!!

I know its a bit late, but I've just signed up.

I think that since hes signed for United, hes proved what a quality player he is. He adds a lot to our midfield and to the team. His partnership with Scholes is fantastic, as well as his partnership with Anderson.

I felt he was our most consistent performer in the first half of the season. We ticked when he played
and he was an important part of the team. I did find he faded in the last month or 2 of the season.
His performances got a bit shaky and his normally perfect passing started to get sloppy in some big
games at the end of the season, namely Barcelona.
All in all, a better second season. Very important player for us now. We are clearly missing him as well.
