Hull City have signed Manchester United youngster Fraizer Campbell.
The 20-year-old has agreed a three-month loan deal at The KC Stadium and could make his debut against Watford this weekend.
Campbell has been involved with United's first-team this season - making his debut against Manchester City, but Sir Alex Ferguson has allowed him to move on a temporary deal.
"I don't think it's any secret that we like Fraizer and he's coming to us from a good club," said manager Phil Brown.
Ability
"We believe he can do a good job and the important thing for us now is to make him feel very much at home and get him into the fold as quickly as possible.
"We have a very tight-knit, super group of lads and I'm sure he'll enjoy his time here.
"We've watched Fraizer over a period of months rather than weeks. Our chief scout Bob Shaw has seen him on several occasions as have Brian Horton and myself.
"He was also on the television a number of times during Manchester United's pre-season because he played a lot of games.
"I think we're all aware of his ability and what he can bring to us. It's all about giving him the confidence and opportunity to show that, which is something I'm sure we'll do." Click

Players like Pique should be used more, hes a great player and deserves some first XI action. In saying that i see Pique possibly getting loaned out to a club in Europe in the near future
Cambell is aparently doing a great job at the moment.

The 20-year-old was among the young Reds Sir Alex Ferguson allowed to temporarily leave Old Trafford last month following the Carling Cup defeat to Coventry.
With no League Cup platform to gain experience, the likes of Campbell, Darron Gibson, Lee Martin and Phil Bardsley were despatched to the championship to beef up their portfolio.
Huddersfield-born striker Campbell moved east to Hull City.
Ex-Bolton player and assistant Phil Brown, now the Hull boss, had been monitoring Campbell in United's reserves and also when he was out on loan to Royal Antwerp.
Brown had Sir Alex Ferguson's friend and ex-City boss, Brian Horton as his number two at the KC Stadium, plus Steve Parkin (ex-Rochdale manager) as his first team coach.
Parkin serves on the League Managers' Committee with the United boss.
Brown used those contacts to snatch sought-after Campbell on loan until mid-January.
And with three goals in six games Campbell has been an instant hit with the Tigers.
"His character is one of his biggest assets," said Phil. "He has a zest for life. He has verve when he crosses the white line. He plays with a smile on his face. I like players who enjoy football.
Enjoyment
"I am not in the game to be a miserable old manager, I am in it to enjoy it and be a happy manager. I enjoy watching football and I enjoy watching Fraizer. He has scored three times for us and two were when we were on Sky TV. So a reputation has begun to develop. People are now looking at him and saying he has blistering pace, can get in behind players, has a good work ethic, is brave and can score goals.
"The championship is not a place for boys. It is brutal at times and unforgiving. You have to be ready for anything that is thrown at you. But he is coping with that.
"I think his experience in Belgium with Royal Antwerp has a lot to do with that. United have it right when it comes to developing their young players and one of the things they've done well is give them that experience in Antwerp. That connection is very healthy. I think it has stood Fraizer in good stead and has been good for us because we have acquired a 20-year-old man and not a 20-year-old boy because of the experience he had living and working in a different country and culture.
"He has that added extra experience which a lot of lads of his age don't get."
Brown has acquired Premiership quality players at Hull like former Bolton talents JJ Okocha and Henrik Pedersen.
"I always believe you can tell a lot about a player and a person the way they integrate into a group," said Phil.
"You test a player and learn about him if you put him in a group of players and see which group he move towards? Is it the footballers or the roughhouses or the characters. Fraizer always goes towards the footballer."
Brown is hoping that come mid-January Sir Alex Ferguson may allow Campbell to remain at Hull until the end of the season.
He also wants the new link between the Tigers and United to remain an open line.
"Our connection with United is now key and we have to conduct ourselves in the right manner because there may be possibilities of others in the future," adds Brown.
"We have to make sure that this first one is the right one. Hopefully Fraizer will be telling people that we do right by the players and we play the right type of football.
"Myself, Brian Horton and Steve Parkin advocate getting the ball down and playing to a Hull City shirt. An awful lot of championship clubs don't do that.
"Sir Alex and his coaching staff need to know we are doing the right thing by the player and playing in a style that is right for United as well.
"We want the situation to be a win-win one for everybody concerned."

Wolves eye Gibson stay - McCarthy keen to retain Red Devils youngster -
12-02-2007, 11:22 PM
Will be interesting if United accept the soon to be proposal of an extended loan deal.
Quote:
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has confirmed he would like to extend Darron Gibson's loan stay.
The Manchester United youngster's Molineux spell is due to end on 19th January, although McCarthy would like to keep him for longer.
With Wolves set to lose Nigeria international Seyi Olofinjana to the African Cup of Nations in Ghana, which starts in January, McCarthy has hinted Gibson will be the man to fill their midfield void.
Developing
"If a player comes on loan, plays and feels he's developing then there's always a good chance of being able to keep them," he told the club's official website.
"He's a young lad who's well thought of at Old Trafford. He's a mature player for his age and he's a Man United player in that he doesn't give the ball away.
"Part of the thinking behind bringing him here was that he would be good cover for when Seyi Olofinjana goes away in the New Year. So hopefully we can keep Darron."

yeah i don't see how this won't happen. gibson is just not needed and wolves are not a bad side to be playing for. I'm guessing the controversy will be put to bed after christmas, when we have more time to deal with this.
One factor that is of importance, is the manager. I've heard rumours that McCarthy is thinking of leaving.
