This announcement was bound to be made eventually....

No matter how much longer he stays, this man is a legend. He's been managing this club for longer than I've been alive and to me, he IS United.

I think he'll stay the three years, unless we do another double like this season, in which case I reckon he'll decide to call it a day.

I'm glad that his chosen this period of time to end his reign as the squad is young and hopefully will be established as the best in Europe by the time he goes, which should make it easier for the replacing manager, who I hope will be Queiroz. He'd ensure the club would remain stable and he knows the club inside out.

Sir Alex retiring is not a day any United fan is looking forward to, that's for sure, but since it is a day that will come I hope he grooms the perfect replacement. I've expected that to be Roy Keane for quite some time, but it does look like CQ is being given the reigns more and more. I am still not sold on CQ, but I'm also not certain he will be a dud.

Keane seems more like the mirror image to me, though.
