Talking Tevez drops Spain hint

Quote:
Carlos Tevez has given Sir Alex Ferguson another summer headache by admitting his desire to play in Spain one day.

With the on-going saga over Cristiano Ronaldo's Manchester United future dominating the sports news on a daily basis, Tevez's comments are unlikely to be welcomed by Ferguson.

Real Madrid's interest in Ronaldo is well documented and now Tevez has admitted that a spell in La Liga later in his career would be of interest.

But the Argentina striker has no plans to make an immediate switch after helping the Red Devils secure a Premier League and UEFA Champions League double in his first season at Old Trafford.

Happy

Tevez told The Sun: "Maybe one day I'll play in the Spanish league but there's a long way to go.

"At the moment I am happy here. I know many South Americans prefer to play in Italy or Spain when they move to Europe.

"But I'm happy here. It's the best league in the world."

source
How about that? I really laughed when I read the article. To be honest I don't think Tevez will ever end up in Spain. I believe he will spend his entire career at United as he has really fallen in love with this club. Maybe he was just joking.

I'm not understanding players talking about playing elsewhere when they are under contract for United.

If this is the new tactic to achieve higher wages, or a contract extension, I would like to hope that United in the future bring in players that stfu and get the job done on the pitch.

This is either:

i. paper talk. Absolute rubbish
ii. Tevez trying to get United to take the buy now option on his contract and increase his pay.

Either way, it needs to stop. United always take care of their players.

He said "may be one day" and when you read the rest, it's just vague and irrelevant. I'd imagine he was answering a question by a curious Spanish journalist asking him if he would ever consider playing there. The media as always jumps onto these sort of replies, takes it out of context and blows it out proportion.

It's hard to say,, seems like loyalties can change in the football world as quickly as anywhere else,, he might get to play there at some point, but i doubt it will be soon.

for me players could think of playing elsewhere when they are in united but if they use that to get increased in salary, thats not football...

it might also be a way to find if other clubs are interested with him, he might got an idea of future move... hop united dont become such a place, where players do come for 1 or 2 years and move away :S

seems like people are forgetting that La Liga at this moment in time is a few steps down on the Premier League, but if you have a 'dream' of playing there go ahead, although Tevez wont be going anywhere for a good 5 years .
