Default Nani settled at Old Trafford - 08-23-2007, 10:04 AM

You know we are very fortunate not only to pick up great talents, but also have them settled in quickly and eager to play.

I think it was a masterstroke to get both Anderson and especially Nani. You get two kiddies that are similar in age to Ronaldo... who speak the same language and who will be here for awhile to play together. It immediately reassures Ronaldo that we were always serious about keeping him and that we want to win now and in the future.

For what Nani has had to do to this point. I really salute him. It has been a baptism by fire sort of speak and he has been holding up very well. Just needs to be a lil less wasteful when shooting.

Nani settled at Old Trafford

Portuguese winger Nani believes the presence of Cristiano Ronaldo and Anderson has helped him swiftly settle into life at Old Trafford.

The former Sporting Lisbon player has featured in all of Manchester United's matches so far this season and has admitted his surprise at the speed of his integration into the first-team picture.

The talented 20-year-old was regarded as a prospect for the future after his summer move, but suspensions and injuries in attack have forced Sir Alex Ferguson's hand somewhat.

Nani said: "Cristiano has been unsurpassable in the support he's given me. He's really helped me and he is a friend who I spend a lot of time with off the pitch.

"Anderson and I have also both helped each other. He has been working really well, and although he hasn't made his debut yet, I'm sure it won't be long before he does."

Adaptation

Speaking to reporters in Portugal after featuring for the Under 21 side in their 3-0 victory over Malta, Nani added: "I thought the adaptation would be more complicated, but I've felt good and managed to play.

"The training is similar to what we did at Sporting, the biggest difference is in the matches themselves, because they require more fight and effort."

And Nani has no plans to drop his trademark somersault celebration, despite reports Ferguson feared it could lead to injuries.

He said: "Ferguson has never spoken to me about this subject and I am going to continue to celebrate goals in this way. The conversations he has had with me are normal conversations, like he has with all players."

I'm glad he's settling in well. I figured that having countrymen/people familiar with his culture around would help tons.

**SPOILERS**

I think he's actually done halfway decent, and as many others have noticed by now I'm sure, his early returns have been very much similar to Ronaldo's back when. Exciting times ahead.

^^ wonder who that is.

Yeah like i've said before, what impresses me the most is his intelligence on the pitch. He seems to have the skills to beat players one on one but elects to try to pass around them first, then if all options are exhausted, he tries to dribble past them. And even when he does that, he seems to try to use his pace more than any 'bells and whistles' type of foot movement. A good sign for a 20 year old IMO.

Ive seen a few videos on youtube of Nani and Anderson.

Nani looks a class prospect, pretty similar to Ronaldo.

Anderson looks a quality attacking midfielder. Strong on the ball and a quick dribbler. Surprised we havn't seen him yet, have i missed something? He looks like he could run straight through the wall of 10 we've been up against so far.

Hargreaves will be important aswell.

am i the only one who thinks that nani and ronaldo aren't similar. i hate youtube, purely for the fact that it's developed this myth. the players might have similar skills, but the way they use them and their movement into space on the pitch is completely different.
