yah man, u heard right, he's a doubt for B'burn, but he should be fit for england.
this is ironic, whenever he goes on a goal scoring run he ends up injured, same as last season, lets hope we get him back soon, we need the Goals!!!

Quote:
Wayne Rooney is doubtful for United’s trip to Blackburn on Saturday after injuring his ankle against Aalborg on Tuesday.

The Reds striker could miss this weekend’s league encounter after going over on his ankle during the second half of United's 3-0 win in Denmark.

However, the injury is not thought to be serious enough to rule him out of international duty next week.

A club spokesperson told ManUtd.com: “Wayne has an ankle injury and is considered doubtful for Saturday’s game against Blackburn, but he should recover in time for England’s forthcoming matches."

The 22-year-old may be forced to sit out United’s clash with Paul Ince’s Blackburn side, but he will join up with the rest of the England squad next week in preparation for their World Cup qualifiers against Kazakhstan on Saturday 11 October and Belarus on Wednesday 15 October.

totally agree with you mate, have been watching him over the years, the goal vs Aab Alborg BK was just an example of what he's capable of, lets hope he recovers quickly as always!

yah i too am the No. 32's fan, i rellly enjoy the way he plays, he's team player and a horror for any defence, i just hope we sign him permanently soon (at the end of this season, David Gill had said so a couple of months ago), he's a really valuable assest worth investing on.

yah the quote was from mantd.com, my apologies, i'm kinnda new at this, but will make sure to post the source in the future.

ppl, it seems we're have an injury crisis! sir alex confirmed on the official website that both gary n wazza are doubts form b'burn tom, pls read the details below.

but it's good that we've got back up for both positions, for gary - Brown/Rafael, n for wazza - Tevez/Berba.

Quote:
Sir Alex has confirmed Gary Neville and Wayne Rooney are doubts ahead of Saturday's visit to Blackburn.

Rooney was forced off the pitch against Aalborg on Tuesday night with an ankle injury, while Neville missed the trip to Denmark after suffering a knock last weekend. Both players, however, engaged in light jogging on Friday morning.

But the visit to Ewood Park looks to have come too soon and the pair are likely to join Michael Carrick (ankle), Owen Hargreaves and Paul Scholes (both knee) on the sidelines.

"Losing Scholes is a blow because he’s such an important player," Sir Alex said. "But Paul has had a couple of long-term injuries like this and he’s always come back nice and fresh."

Scholes suffered medial ligament damage against Aalborg and is expected to be out for 10 weeks. And even though the midfielder is approaching 34, the United boss has no concerns over his ability to recover from this latest setback.

"He only needs to look at Gary Neville, who was out for 18 months and has come back fantastically well. You have to admire the perseverance and determination he’s shown to come back – it’s an inbred characteristic in all of the players. I’m very confident Paul will be back and will play for easily another year.

"It was a worry when he had that eye injury [in 2006/07] because at the time we couldn’t find an answer. But he came back from that and did the same from his injury last season and he’ll come back from this one.

"Even though he can’t do any football work at the moment, he’ll be working away in the gym so he’s ready for when he comes back."

Nice post Maz!

in the forward and rightback position, we are fine with both Neville and Rooney out. Keep in mind we still have:

Fowards
Berbatov
Tevez
Manucho
Welbeck

Defenders
Brown
Da Silva
Evans
O'Shea

Where I'm a little worried is central midfield. With Carrick, Scholes, Hargreaves and Possebon out, we have Fletcher, Anderson, Giggs, O'Shea. A lil thin there.

totally agree with u mate, we're well covered in the defence and attack departments, n yes! the midfield IS a problem, but i think we'll manage, with fletcher and anderson in the centre (both of them are in good form), n bringing giggsy on as a sub. ('coz that's not his natural position, although sir alex has decided to give him that new role), but i know for sure that we've got enough quality for any team, given the fact that we're the Champ10ns of England and the Kings of Europ3, eh!!!

Awesome news

Quote:
Manchester United's injury-hit midfield will be given a boost with the imminent return of Michael Carrick and Owen Hargreaves.

Both players are getting closer to full fitness and the England duo could return to the heart of the United team as early as next weekend.

With Paul Scholes expected to be out until December with a knee injury picked up against AaB Aalborg, Sir Alex Ferguson hopes to include both players in his squad to face West Brom on Saturday.

Carrick has missed the last six matches since breaking a bone in his foot against Liverpool in September, while Hargreaves has fought a long-term knee problem ever since he moved to Old Trafford from Bayern Munich last summer.

Ferguson believes 27-year-old Carrick will almost certainly be in contention to face the Baggies, with Hargreaves also likely to feature. Park Ji-Sung, Anderson or Darren Fletcher could make way for the returning pair.

Ferguson told the Manchester Evening News: "We are expecting Michael to be available next week. He is almost back to full training now.

"Owen is much better and we will pencil him in for the West Brom game without question."
